The problems facing the Miss Algeria pageant

4_191624542.jpg

According to a recent interview with the national director of the pageant, the absence of Algeria in most international pageants is due to the lack of financial sponsoring which includes the franchise fees ($30,000-$40,000 biennial for Miss World), airfare, the cost of wardrobe and the training of the representative. Nonetheless and with enough sponsoring he revealed that Miss Algeria 2009 will compete in Miss Tourism Queen International, and possibly Miss World. He also revealed that Algeria did well in international pageants, ranking 26th in Miss World 2002, 3rd in Miss Mediterranean 2004, 3rd in Miss Africa 2005 and 2nd in Golden Fortune Top Model International 2005.
